White wine are high in sugar. The reason is the grape. The same with the rose ones. The grapes are so sweet.Red ones are better in one way.Low sugar and acidity is better. But,some times you have to drink some white because the dish or the circumstance. If you have to do that, put some lemon juice ( a Little, not a gallon) and the juice will make the wine more easy to digest.

Youre probably matching your wines with the wrong foods. For example if your salad has lemon or vinegar in the dressing, you should drink a high acid wine such as Sauvignon Blanc.
