You could transform it into 'Altough realism believes in the objectivity of the laws of politics, it must also believe...', or, better, 'Realism [already] believes in the objectivity of the laws of politict, but it must also believe...'

it means that realism (What kind?) believes in the objectivity (Again what kind?) of the laws of politics (And who's?)
The better question is how can something as insubstantial as realism. By this I mean that ... well can realism "believe"?
