I am a Professional Graphics Designer, sometimes I think that my daydreaming really help me, because everyone who meet me told me that I have a talent to prove myself. Luchare, You are great, because you are right. I am really a creative, that not my opinion, but people says that.

Try developing a hobby which you totally enjoy and immerse yourself in it completely. Alternatively, if you enjoy your work, give your work everything you've got, and get involved totally. Accept responsibilities by the dozen, like organising events in your office, etc.
Don't give yourself time to think. When you're that busy, you don't have time to day dream any longer.
You can simultaneously try going to a therapist for counselling or try alternative therapies like reiki

Personally I don't think people daydream enough. When you are in a quiet moment, and you find yourself drifting off into wherever it is that you go in Daydream Land, make sure you have a pen and pad handy, and just write down what you were thinking about. Now of course it depends on where you are at when you are daydreaming. If it affects your work then give yourself a slap across the face to get out of it. No, just joking. But seriously if your daydreaming is affecting your social activities and working then yeah, I would get help. I think you are probably just very imaginative, and desperately need an outlet to escape. Writing or painting should do it, and you might come out of your daydream sessions a better person. I think you don't have a problem, I think you are a highly creative and imaginative human being that probably has a gift that has not been tapped into yet. I wish you all the best of luck, and I hope to be admiring some of your creative work some day.

Well the divorce must of been a messy one, cause you have to day dream to make things better, even now. That was the way you coped when they slipt up, but it is not working now that you are grown up. You need to stay in the real world and get some professional help to work out a more healthier way to cope with things. Cause some day you may find that it has gone to far and you really can not tell which is the day dream and which is real. So go and make an appointment to see a therapist or have an intake at Mental health, and they can help you through this, and find a better way to cope with the world you lived in back then, and are living in now. It does work, but you have to remember it is going to be hard work, and may take some time. So you really need to want to do this for yourself, not cause someone else wants you to go and get the help. Otherwise you will find that you are just there, and don't really learn a thing, and think it is the therapist fault. So you really need to want to do this yourself, for yourself, and then things will get a lot better in time, and it may take some time, but you will learn to live in the real world and be happy. Good luck with this.

You need to see a professional for this.... but this is what I think happened to you: when your parents divorced, it affected you a lot... and your mind went into coping mode, which was to create your own perfect world in your mind. It's time to move on dude.... you survived that part of your life.... be proactive and create a good life for yourself.... not exactly like your daydreams, but make it a good one. You are an adult now. The divorce of your parents was not your fault- Not Your Fault! Wake up!!!
Good luck and God bless.

I ever used this way ,I found it was right for myself ,I'm not sure whether it's also right for you, anyway ,if you'd like to ,you might have a try .
Have a nice day !!!
P.S: in fact ,I accepted this question hours ago ,however ,there is something wrong with my PC, I couldn't open it and answer .

You might want to talk with a psychologist and possibly start taking some ginkgo biloba to help improve mental function and concentration.

You blame wayyyyy too many problems on your daydreaming buddy. Get in touch with reality more often, care more about the things in your reality.
