i am 18 years old and am in love with a man. we have been together since may and live together. i am completly loyal to him but have a new friend named chip. i have a huge crush on chip. and my bf thinks that i have gone on 2 dates with him. he doesnt mind, finding the situation amusing. chip and i have done some classic date like things (such as go to dinner and movie and walks on the beach) but i think its as just friends despite my crush on chip. is it ok to be feeling/doing this or not? and why doesnt my bf care?

I've got a question for you...
Would you mind if the situation was reversed, like him having someone else?
I'm a jealous person and don't share but if my man thought it ok for me to be seeing someone else,I'd be worried what he's doing...

The word You are looking for to describe the way You feel about "Chip" is 'propinquity'. Look it up, and see if I am not mistaken. Then have it put onto a "T" shirt, with the meaning clearly written so that You, "Chip" and " the( older?) Man You live with but Whose name You didn't mention" know where You are all standing in regards to the quiet walks on the beach.
Just a piece of advice from an 'Older Man' who thinks He knows the situation.

Before you can ask that question and wonder if what you are doing is okay...ask yourself this: How would I feel if my boyfriend were going out with a girl, taking walks on the beach, having dinner and leaving me at home alone? Wait, before you answer yourself, just imagine it. It may be bothering him just as much as it would bother you but men do a wonderful job of remaining silent. If you are living together and you are "loyal" you shouldn't be doing this, atleast I wouldn't. Just a last bit of advice...I'm 18 also and there's hard to find a good guy out there who isn't afraid to be with one person or commit...so if you have one, I suggest you hold on to him and not mess it up over such pettiness

he probably does and just pretending not to. either that or he's using you for some other reason than love. and those sound like dates to me. Maybe you should talk to chip and see whats up...matter of fact, talk to both guys.

You are obviously in an "open" relationship. You are so lucky, especially if you read and believe what half the losers write here!

well i think its ok as long as you don't act on your feelings not unless you are willing to dump your boyfriend and be with chip.
