Dad likes to slam the doors so loud in the house that I have a ruptured eardrum. Even if we plead with him to stop, it just made him have more rage. Plus he slammed the doors even harder next time....

Lost all hearing in one ear.
He thinks he did nothing wrong.
Even when he saw my bloody ears.

First thing: Don't slam any doors for some type of "revenge of the slamming doors" thing! It will only make it worse.

Listen to music. Breathe. Sooner or later he will have to stop.

If it's too much for you to handle, leave the house. Do you have any possible places you could go?

It seems like there is something wrong that causes him to do that. It would be good to find that problem out and try to fix it.

EDIT 2:42 AM

I hope you are okay. How old are you?

Well i would say that your father has an really big problem, and it needs to be addressed now. If it has effected your hearing, and you have a hearing lost from it, he could be picked up for that and made to seek professional help. Cause slaming doors, is a sign of a very angry person, so he has some issues that he needs to talk about with someone who can help him out with them. And if he does not want to go and seek the help then you may have to dial 911, or call a crisis line, or a hospital, and i am pretty sure that they will help get him some help.

A colleague told me a story about a friend of his. He's children did the same, slamming doors in bursts of outrage and would not stop. One day he simply took all the doors in the house off! It worked!

Wow he slams the door that loud? You really have to talk to your dad and if that brings more rage..then let everyone ignore him so he would know that he doesn't get attention anymore and he would evntually stop. Good Luck.

My response to this is not going to be liked, but it is what I would do.

Pray for him. He needs peace, compassion and kindness. He needs to learn how to maintain a sweet spirit instead of always showing such anger.

If you are religious, then you know turning to God and praying for your dad will eventually resolve the problem. You, yourself, must maintain a sweet spirit. No matter how much he slams that door, always be kind. Don't yell at him for it. God loves him anyway! Such things as oppressive spirits can latch onto people and things and cause a person to not realize that their anger is as bad as it is and that their behavior is extreme. Just continue to show him you love him.

Best wishes! God Bless!

Tell him hes a child and get out of there. Leave the house and see if that will prove how important this is to you.

Burn the house down. No house, no doors, no slamming of doors.

maybe you could pad the door frames with some kind of foam or caulk, to lessen the noise.
I think "dad" needs to get a lesson in maturity, but who am I to say?
