Back in the day, when a catastrophe hits, people said it is God punishing the wicked. Nowadays, after Katrina and other disasters, we say its global warming. Is the Mother Earth the new god?

Let me rephrase the question: How do we know that disasters like Katrina was caused by global warming? Is environmentalism a propoganda by interest groups? If you disagree, state your case.

I wouldn't cheapen the sanity of environmentalism with the label of "religion."

And yes, Gaia rocks. But she is just one among many.

In a way, I supposed it is. It doesn't matter how polluted the earth may become because it will be destroyed in the future.

But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare.

You don't understand what the word "religion" means.

Maybe you're so convinced of your little eternal life story that you wouldn't actually be bothered by the earth being destroyed?

No mother earth is a figure of speech .And the environment is
a challenge of great importance to both science and the people that science serves. Why drag out the proverbial superstition .
