no, but I am not in the military.

It would depend on the situation. If it was an unlawful command, you are not obligued to follow the command, however you could later get charged with insubordination or similar.
If you, at the time, thought the person was innocent and therefore the command was unlawful, I wouldn't - however it would depend, as I said on the situation and also it would depend on the person giving the command.
It shows alot for the leadership abilites of some people because they've proven they don't just tell people to do something for the sake of doing it. If they're a good leader you'd follow their order because you knew they had a reason and more information than you to kill this person. The latter is unfortunately part of the job.

NO! Your officer is obviously insane, if you kill innocent civilians (on purpose), you are breaking military code. If you have already taken this order, you should go to your highest superior with it. Plead that you committed the crime because of fear for your life. If this was just a "what if" question, then you know the answer.

"Oh, we were just following orders." The paradox of being in the military, which teaches the discipline of following orders, and the Nuremburg trials, which ruled that if you disagreed with orders, it is then your duty to not obey those orders. Who's right?

I'm sure there were a lot of innocent women and children who perished in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. I'm sure the bomber pilots who dropped those bombs were only "following orders." Sure, you can debate how many lives were saved as a result of ending the war early, the facts remain, innocent lives were knowingly destroyed under orders.

If your talking about the war in Iraq, I will do my duty and take orders from my commanding officer, I would do my job and follow orders. If you mean a bunch of gang bangers , some screw ball suppose to be leader of the pack, then no. If you think they are killing innocent people in Iraq, you need some serious help from a SHRINK.

Im assuming your talking about iraq/afghanistan. First, we arent ordered to kill anyone. We are put in situations that we can not return fire unless we can positively identify someone as a threat, meaning they fire a weapon at us. At that point, they are not innocent and i will put them down in a heartbeat and not lose a wink of sleep. If i were given an order to shoot at someone who i could not positively identify as a threat, i would not shoot, it is not a lawful order. As soldiers, we have an obligation to refuse unlawful orders.

Depends on what the circumstances are.If i were an ordinary soldier, probably not.If i were on a mission with special ops. and came across a person that we couldn't take hostage because they were a liability to our operation, and couldn't be released for the same reason, then probably yes. There are too many variables to the equation to give an exact answer.
