It's quite common. I think that when children are learning to use language, some of them just have lisps. The sound that they make is close enough to the sound that everyone else makes that it's still understandable, so they keep doing it.

i believe its a medical condition whereby the person affected is born with a tongue too wide hence obstructing his speech capabilities. this should be easily corrected by plastic surgery.

the brain. the brain has trouble controling the tongue. or hearing loss can contribute. a speech therapist can help. im gonna be one one day!
