I don't consider myself any one denomination. I'm just Christian, but I have been to both baptist and penticostal churches. Most baptists do not believe that the gifts of the Holy Spirit are for today. I don't really consider myself penticostal, but I do believe that the Holy Spirit is not slacking off on His work. I believe that the gifts of the Spirit are definitely being used a lot in these last days. the Bible says that in the last days, the things that Jesus did on earth (healing, miracles, tounges, prophecy, etc.) we (Christians) will do, and even greater things we will to in His name.-John 14:12-14

They have a lot of the same beliefs, I think the major difference is speaking in tounges. Penticostals believe it is a sign that the Holy Spirit resides in you. Baptist don't believe in this and interpret speaking in tounges to having the supernatural ability to speak a language (French, German, Greek) that you did not learn to expedite the spreading of the gospel. To be able to speak to a crowd of people who speak different laguages and be heard by each of them in their tounge. Baptists also believe these gifts as well as healing have been recinded.
There might be more but this is all that I know

The Pentecostals believe that their churches are based on the original church in the book of acts, which were active in the gifts of the Holy Spirit, and in miracles. I don't know if Southern Baptists practice any of the gifts mentioned in the early church of the New Testament. Hope this helped.

Pentecost believe in speaking in tongs - Baptist do not
Pentecost believe they are the only ones going to heaven-Baptist feel that all who believe in Jesus will go to heaven( but if your going, you might as well go first class)
I'm sure there is more but that is all I know

It's all the same. If you attended wither service without knowing which religion it was, you wouldn't be able to say Baptist or Pentecostal. The big difference is who gets what's in the collection basket.

It is too subtle to worry about.
Both are christian protestant churches. They have differences in doctrine but they are too minor to mention. It is a matter of taste not a matter of salvation which one you chose.
