Yes, I know. Only you're religion is the correct one, and everyone else's religion is wrong, because God tells you you're believing the correct way, and all the other people who worship differently are going to burn in Hell. It's the same thing I hear from every religion.

What makes your religion the ONE that is correct? Different religions will come up with the same answer; because God tells us this religion is correct and all others are wrong... Why did God make it so difficult?

Either there is no God, or all forms of worship are correct, or your religion really is the correct one and God is going to punish millions of people for worshiping the wrong way...

If there is a God, I'm definetly going to Hell for not worshiping at all... But is it fair that the ones who think they are worshiping correct go to Hell?

I understand free will just fine. God gave us free will to worship other Gods and then punish us for not seeing the signs, when the signs point in all directions. When every religion says they are correct we are supposed to know that every other relgion is a lie, and this religion is the truth, even though every religion tells me other religions are a lie, and their religion is the truth.

You actually make a valid point. Let's examine your three possibilities:

1) There is no God.
2) All forms of worship are correct.
3) One religion is right and God is going to punish millions.

Well, we can eliminate #2 immediately, since most religions contradict each other either indirectly or outright, and two opposing "truths" can't *both* be true.

#1 can also be eliminated by the truly rational, since there is no valid way for the universe to have created itself. (It would have had to start before it existed, and that is nonsensical!) All this *had* to come from somewhere.

So that leaves #3: One religion is right. But which one? Good question, again.

Follow the evidence (The *real* evidence, not the "everybody know that such-and-such and so on" that many site in their arguments), and see where it goes.

You've seen the epic battle of wits and witlesses on Yahoo Answers -- Do not fall for automatically believing one side in particular -- even your own. Consider and weigh the evidence, the actual logic (where that actually comes into play), and ignore any answer (or question) that is mud-slinging. Look for the real stuff.

And what about your question about "and God is going to punish millions of people for worshiping the wrong way..."?

I think Michele (see above) hit the nail on the head (as it were) when she was talking about free choice. What the Bible *actually* says on the subject is that we were all created for the purpose of glorifying and loving God and enjoying His presence. He doesn't want to be worshipped by robots. That's mindless (literally). He wants to be worshipped by people who actually *choose* to love Him.

But what gives Him that right? Isn't that a bit self-seeking?

No kidding. After all, if He made us and basically owns us, I think He has that right, as much as you have a right to expect your car to do what you bought it for. And you didn't even make your car, I'm guessing!

So, yeah, I do think my religion is the right one... But I refused to assume that. I looked at (and still look at) all the data and evidence I can look at. Historical evidence. Mathematical evidence (such as statistics and probability, for a start -- I *am* a mathematician, after all). Scientific evidence (such as the popular scientific theory that is against the laws of science). And anything else.

I never stop looking. And I refuse to assume.

Neut: I am a Christian and agree with you that religion is WRONG !!! Religion is what you serve or follow, as an individual. If you are into the $ - that is your religion !!! If you are into sex, drugs ,self, career, education, booze, intellectualism, etc., etc., - that is ones religion. Now; for myself, I am into spirituality ... that is, a relationship with Jesus Christ ! This defines me as WHO I am ! God never made "it" difficult - people do ! People confuse "relationship" with "doing" - that is, they think that by legalistic approaches to Christianity make them "Christians". It is WHO you ARE - not what you DO !!! Further; "no"; God is NOT going to "punish" people for "worshiping the wrong way" ! God is going to lovingly TEACH people HOW to have a relationship with Him. Remember; God is in the SAVING [re: "Savior"] business not the punish-for-eternity business !!!

P.S. I am not saying, that I have the "corner" on worshiping God but there are a lot of dysfunctional "religions" and some with some, very bad theology out there. So; in short, I say to you, "the Holy Spirit will teach you ALL things" !!!

Yes... By logic there will be one God, not many.. if there are many then they are not gods. First conclusion is that GOD is one,not many. Now the question is why many people having many religions.?
It is simple. According to place, time and circumstances knowledge about god is revealed either through GOD Himself or by His representative. So there will be lot of religions. But we should not say that our religion is only correct and others are not.

But we should not be misled by so called Gods claiming themselves GOD. They should be authorized by scriptures, previous sages and they should perform the feats that GOD has performed, not some gymnastics and some little mystics. They should perform in full extent.

Because God gives us the choice. It wouldn't be love if we didn't choose it. It would mean we were just puppets on a string. Could God do that sure, he just chooses not to because it means more to Him when we come freely to Him. Different people choose different things. We all believe we are right. The bible says those who are truely seeking will find God. In the end we will see who is right. To me the answer is to seek God with all your heart, don't seek being right, seek God, open your eyes, mind and heart to what He is trying to say, see where is leads you. In the end we will see who was right, until then always seek Him.

God gave man freewill, and in the beginning he gave dominion of the Earth to man, in the interest that man would subdue the natural laws, such as physics, the laws of the elements, and such, therefore, the oldest writings ever found in Egypt, had a scripture that says: In order to serve God, you must do this, and do this only...

Serve God humbly, and do justly...

My personal belief is that there is no "right" religion or "wrong" religion.

Whatever one chooses (or not) does not matter. We are all part of God and God loves unconditionally.

So if God claimed there is one correct religion then God's love would therefore have a condition.

God does not punish for if that statement where true then that would mean God did not grant us "free will"

My personal opinion; is that many religions create an element of fear in order to gain followers. Let me state that it is ok to choose any religion of ones' desire and God sees that as all perfect.

Whatever ones' heart (soul) says is what one determines the path one follows.

Science also has things that the scientists themselves disagree over, does that make all science wrong? Maybe one is wrong, maybe both are partially right. As with any other question off this sort only time will tell!
And please, what part of free will do you not understand? This kind of question is asked over and over. God gave man the ability to think and choose for himself. And as history has proven over the centuries, man makes some pretty stupid decisions and choices.

My path is only right for ME. There is value in all religions. There is no *one* religion that is right for all people. Everyone is in a different place in their journey, therefore each needs different teachings to nourish them. Just as a first grader cannot flourish in a third grade environment, a tenth grader cannot suceed in a twelfth grade environment. This is the reason for all the different religions ... to nourish each and every one of us. All paths lead to the same destination. Some are shortcuts, and some are long and winding roads ... but we will all return to the heart of God at the end of our journey.

The answer to your question is that all forms of worship are correct for the person who follows it -- what is important is they are searching and seeking truth and the path to God. God takes note.

Religion, in all forms, is wrong. It is a man created idea that was started to keep the masses in line, and the few, rich. If there was a god, he/she/it would have fixed all that is wrong in this world by now.

We have been given the free will to chose what we would like to believe in. I have often heard this , that man uses religion to reach out to God but God uses Jesus to reach out to man.
