Piercing professionals used to recommend daily use of a surgical antiseptic on new piercings. This is usually an iodine-alcohol mix -- your piercer probably used something like this to prepare your piercing site. However, they found that this type of solution dried skin so badly that while it killed germs, it slowed the healing process, especially on tender areas like the nipples and genitals. If you wash daily with Dial, and continue to rotate the rings as directed, you will heal fastest.
Be aware that not everyone's nipple piercings heal completely, especially if the piercing goes through a wide area of tissue. I gave mine a full year, and it never fully healed, so I gave up on them and took out the ring. It took another six months for it to close. Other piercings worked out well once I stopped using the antiseptic and cleaned regularly with soap and water. Give them a good long time and follow cleansing and rotation instructions, and you should have good results.

Dial soap isnt such a harsh anti bacterial soap which is why generally all piercing and tattoo shops recommend it that and very few people have allergic reactions to it. I used to get an infection any time I got a piercing until I decided to get things re pierced and was told to use dial it doesnt burn, sting or hurt either and the foaming one they sell in stores is awesome to use, dial isnt that expensive either and you can get it at WalMart pretty cheap. But if you dont want to use Dial you need to use an antibacterial liquid soap because bar soap isnt as good, try and find a liquid one that isnt harsh ( read ingredients ) and thats hypoallergenic.

They told me not to use dial. So I guess it depends on where you go. My piercer suggested satin or provon soap, which has been great. Also saline soaks once a day, with noniodized sea salts.
I don't know if you're a boy or a girl. If a girl, you need to keep your bras really really clean. And be careful what kind of fabric softeners you use, they can be irritating. Mine tended to itch and the skin would get dry, so my piercer told me to use vitamin e oil on them, which works wonders.
No rubbing alcohol, no peroxide, and no triple antibiotic ointment. alcohol and peroxide are too drying, and will kill the bacteria you need to fight infection. Triple antibiotic ointment isn't for use on puncture wounds, and can actually build up inside the piercing and lead to infection.

Use Dial, it has natural healing agents. When I was very young, I was run over by a corn planter, I had bad cuts all over my body. In the emergency room, the doctor told my mother to wash the cuts with Dial, she was skeptical but did it anyway. I have no scars. This was in the 70's, I can't believe more people don't know about this miracle "drug".

Sea salt works good for piercings, it can be purchased at most tattoo/piercing shops.
When I got my nose pierced I received this yellow-ish/green anti-bacterial soap that I used to treat infection, which doesn't occur so much now as it did right after I got it done.

You can do sea salt soaks about every two-three days. Make sure that you keep your bras and sheets clean! If you play any sports, wear bandaids over them with a very supportive bra. Make sure that any time you touch them, it is with clean hands.
Also, do not use peroxide or neosporin on your piercings--ever. And do not clean using q-tips or cotton balls because pieces of the cotton can get stuck in the piercing itself and trap bacteria.

Yes, take out any piercings and let them heal. Wash with soap and water like you normally would. I don't understand why people like to mutilate their bodies!!

If you have a nipple piercing, and you're pregnant, you can make milk squirt out sideways. I think he'd like that.
