religion is supposed to be keeping people in the prehistoric ages, a modernized religion wont be a religion anymore, and besides even if they wanted to, in every religion there are strict rules about changing "what god has sent down" ...bla bla bla

It's called tradition. We enjoy it. It symbolises things to us since we weren't there at the time of the events. We aren't meant to change drammatically. That's how our religion survived for manny thousands of years. That's how it became the longest - lasting religion. Changing it might make us forget the events and forget how we survived. We modernized it to a certain point using technology for Judaic purposes. Not everything is old-fashioned. eg. Using a pocket pc for prayers on weekdays. Creating certian Judaic pc programmes.

I am not sure what you are asking. I have studied many religions...all of them were developed for the weak..that need some support, some meaning in life...for guidance...do not get me wrong..it works very well to control the masses. Judism, I found, was very family orientated..one of the better religions.
The best religion I have studied was the Hindu..to be one with the universe...I guess you have to be there...on second thought..the American Indians were one with the earth and nature...you cannot get better than that.
By the way, I was born Roman Catholic

How do you modernize a religion? They believe what they believe and that is not going to change. Do you tell Buddhists to modernize their religion? What about Muslims?

OMG! Why dont you ask why dont the Amish Christians modernize themselves?
Most Jews are modern, but in the Torah it says to be modest, Kosher, etc etc. Im Kosher, i keep 50% of modesty laws, I try to keep Shabbat sometimes, etc etc. Im not so religious, but i try to be.
Got a problem?

Why don't you modernize yourself and accept people for who they are. Its called RESPECT remember dick head. I'm not religious and nor believe in God but its all religious people that keep us back in time. If it weren't for science and the teachings of evolution in schools we would have gotten no where today. If it were up to you religious freaks, you'd have guns and weapons to shoot each other up over differences so stupid and small.

Man alters truth to fit his comfort zone. Why should we change it? Would it do any good? More wars are fought over different religious practices today. Why make it any worst?
