I can't begin to count the number of times a girl / woman has passed me on the sidewalk or in a hallway somewhere and looked right through me as if I didn't even exist. It's frustrating to say the least.

Ordinary shmoes are the best kind of joe's.
The thing is, do men (women for that matter) really really want someone to just "look" at them and melt? *shrugs* Ok perhaps the shallow ones do. But the people of depth truly desire someone to know their soul... who they are from the inside.
What makes a girl look at a guy? When she senses sincerity. Nothing turns me off more than a guy that sucks it in a little tighter when someone walks by. Who begins to swagger. Who takes on the air of "cool." Who tries to be what he is not. The obvious ego is not a turn on.
But the guy that is comfortable in his own skin being who he is... that's what turns my head! The shmoe with the sense of humor. The shmoe with the generous heart. The shmoe with the intelligence. (nothing sexier than a brilliant mind!) The shmoe that just wants to enjoy life for what it is and asks for so little in return.......he's the one that deserves wealth beyond all others.
So let the women pass you by in the halls. But once in the room, be who you are. Let their heads turn as they see the intelligence emerge. Let them turn their heads out of curiosity as they watch the wit flow. Let them linger behind just to catch a last glimpse as they see you confidentally leaving the room. You might be amazed to see them follow. *wink*

You're worrying about the wrong thing. If you are trying to TALK to a woman and she looks right through you, THEN you should worry.
In the meantime, try catching someone's eye and smiling a little. If they respond by smiling, open the smile up some more. Use good posture when you walk; don't just look at the ground. Positive body language helps a lot. Good luck!

We are looking for something special.. If there are 10 guys and 10 girls the majority of the women will be attracted to the one hot guy and the guys will like a smattering of different girls. Not everyone can be the number one and you just aren't.
Charasmatic guys attract attention everywhere they go.
One way you could get their attention is to make friends with a hot guy. 6 girls will want him at once and when he jilts one they can cry on your shoulder for comfort. Eventually, after time one will feel sorry for you and give you some affection. It won't happen over night but it will happen.

You can't judge yourself by that!!!
Now days women are afraid to talk to strangers or look them in the eye on the sidewalk. They just want to get where they are going!!! They might be physco's or murderers anyway.
BUT IF YOU REALLY WANT TO LOOK GET SOME NICE DARK JEANS, COOL SHOES AND SEXY SHIRT. BUY YOURSELF SOME AQUA-DI-GIO COLOGNE. THEY WILL NOTICE!!!!
You should mingle at a local hangout or have your friends introduce you to someone maybe get you a blind date with someone. That might be a little safer.

If you ever manage to locate a girl in a more private environment where you can easily discern her interests, for example in a book store or Library where she is looking at a specific genre of works, you could always attempt to approach her and talk about this topic.

That probably has little to do with you. Alot of women are shy. Alot of women are angry. ALot of women have bf's and try not to look anywhere else. Alot of people think you should be great friends first and dont get attracted to strangers.
Stop caring, stop looking to see who is looking. As soon as you do this, she will come and find you. That seems to be how it works. Search and never find or stop searching and let it find you.

You have to have confidence, i've never met a girl who didnt like guys with confidence. Its also really hard for girls we think guys do the same thing to us. I try to smile at people and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt. You could try making an effort like that and smiling at someone casually. It forces (the nice people anyways) to pay attention and smile back.

Do volunteer work. It puts you in close contact with people that are there to do something nice so everyone is nice to everyone no matter what they look like.
This gives you a chance to chat and talk with that good looking girl and then she will get to know you and like you.
