If your partner has never been married they might want the big wedding if not why don't you put all of that money into having a fun wonderful day and especially a nice honeymoon and if guest wont bring presents don't feed the free loaders, cause thats more money you could spend on those that do love and care for you.

Honey, if it is real and loving and meaningful: Plan it as big as you like!!! If you have the means and you are both into it, why not! It's a way for all your family members to meet and have a big get-together!!! When I was married for the second time, I threw a big party but mentioned gifts were not needed on the invitation. We all had a GREAT time!!! People got to meet one another that will probably never meet again. It was well worth it!! It is YOUR day and those closest to you will realize it, and be happy for you both!!!! :)

I don't think size matters. My mom and step-dad had a good sized wedding (like 200 people) but it was very informal. They got married on a lake (just off shore). The ushers rowed guests without boats out to the "barge". My grandpa drove my mom out to the "barge" on a little 15 foot boat instead of walking her down a aisle. My step-dad water skied in. And everyone wore a swim suit. It was great. The catering was all finger food.
If you want to share your day with 3000 people, that is your right. Do it how you want to.

I would NEVER have a big wedding.
Been married twice, by the way. First one lasted 15 years. Current one will be 25 years this June.

I don't see the point. tell everyone to save their travel money for the divorce party. If you're actually considering getting married after screwing up the previous two then I'd say you got bigger problems than whether or not to have a wedding.

NO! Invite a few intimate friends and relatives. Get married in a house or the courthouse and gather for a nice intimate dinner with those you know the best.

Depends, are you going to be inviting different people from your first two weddings? If yes, go ahead and have a large one. If they are the same people, maybe a small ceremony would be better.

Depends:
Did I have a big wedding one of those three times? If yes, then no I would have a small one.

Of course not. A small, quiet ceremony, with a dinner at your home for family and close friends.

Only if you think that this wedding is more important than the previous two. Then I'd say go for it. You may not want to wear white though.
