Because it taste's pretty bad and when an australian offers someone to try some vegemite they don't just spread a little bit on a piece of bread, they give them a whole spoonful! I don't think many people would like that much vegemite.
And btw I LOVE reeces peanut butter cups! When ever my uncle comes home from the USA he brings us heaps of them! They are so good and I wish you could by them in NZ and Australia!
By the way Marmite it WAAAAAAAAAAAAY better than Vegemite!

I really don't know where this all Austalians love Vedgemite comes from!
In WW2 and Vietnam,it was considered a nice guesture to donate a jar to the Red Cross for a Soldier overseas.Reality is they probarly disliked it as much as a lot of us do.
I hate it! it tastes like, what it looks like!
Its proberly the same as Australians thinking Americans and people from the U.K. like Spam,yuk!
Some Aussies proberly love Spam on toast with a real thick slather of Vedgemite.I'm sure they exist!
But where they are,I don't know!
So we can't expect people who come here,to eat something a lot of us wouldn't eat.

They don't understand how to consume it.
It takes toast, heavily buttered, with a minute scrape of vegemite.
Any more and it does taste like b a l l s. But if you get it right, it's wicked-fresh.

Maybe because they put on to think which make it to salty. We Aussie have also been brought up on vegemite.

Same reason people don't like Poi unless they are raised on it - if you don't have a taste for it in adulthood, you never will.

1st. smell= like something you dug out between your toes!!!
2nd. smell= like burnt axlegrease, and something that came out from your feet,
3rd. taste, have eaten, certain eastern dishes that tasted foul, but this is BEYOND, human consumption!!! give me BOILED LIVER ANYTIME!!!!!
