Not quite. My friend was trying to flirt with some guy but all she was doing was telling him to 'stop by the bar' where she bartends and that DJ blahblah was DJing that night, etc.. She usually says that stuff to everyone because she wants more tips, etc.. She never actually said anything personal to him, it all came out as some advertisement for the place she worked at. The guy didn't end up stopping by her job the next night and she was all upset and freaking out. I said, "What did you expect? All you did was spam him about your job all night?" I didn't even think about it, I just said it but it made total sense.
