A man went to a party and drank some of the punch. He then left early. Everyone else at the party who drank the punch subsequently died of poisoning.

the others consumed the same punch..
(clue:- the poison was there in the punch when he drank it)

There was poisoned ice cubes? When they melted they released the poison.

The poison in the punch came from the ice cubes. When the man drank the punch the ice was fully frozen. Gradually it melted, poisoning the punch.

Actually, no where in the riddle does it say the PUNCH, specifically, was poisoned. They could have all been poisoned by the meatloaf for all we know. All it says is that everyone that DRANK the punch died of posioning; this doesn't mean, on it's own, that the punch itself was poisoned.

The first person (not poisoned) drank the punch before the POISONED ICE CUBES started to melt. When they did melt, the remainder of the people who drank the punch subsequently died.

He doesnt consume enough of the punch
The punch was tainted after he left or by him
or his freakishly high tolerance to posion, I bet thats it!
