How stupied are the first few answers. NO IT IS NOT A SCAM ! The INS gives 50,000 US visas (Green Card) through a lottery winning, for third world countries. It is well known all around the world. It was established after the fall of communism, to give the eastern a chance to come to America.
People should not talk about scams when they are ignorant. Not EVERYTHING on the net is a scam.

dont give your credit card details unless you think the site is 100% trustworthy. usually that means you deliberately went to the site as opposed to clicking on an ad.
lotteries can be won by non US citizens.
I dont think there is anything like a "green card" lottery that can legally offer the right to live and work in the US for payment.

yes there is a green card lottery - if u googel it it will give u the correct links for it - or u can go to the US imigration site and link from there - you have to live in certain contries tho - for exampel - UK and rest of europe only get a small amount of greencards and contries like africa and india get a lot more
if u go from the US imigration website there is NO CHARGE
its not a con or a scam
but outher links they might charge you an admin fee for fileing on your behalf - Do it yourself and you will be entered - chances of egtting one are pretty high depending on where u are from and if u dont try - you wont ever win

Yes its a scam. I'm pretty sure you have to be a citizen of the united states to even participate in the lottery, much less win anything from them.

There is such a lottery but I suspect that if you get any sort of come on on the internet...then it is a scam.
I worked with a guy from Ireland that got his green card in Lottery.
But that was years ago.
I would not trust the ads.

There is such a thing as "green card lottery" or it's also called "Diversity Visa Lottery" - US government does it every year, but people who enter have to meet a bunch of requirements and the number of applicants and winners is limited.

Most are scams but there is a real one too. I hope Yahoo would only show ads for the real one.

The lottery is real, but you do not need to go through any company. However, you can if you are not sure how to complete the forms.
