I am a senior citizen who is not knowledgeable of all the abbreviations and acronyms used by young people today. What are UC's?

I don't know what exactly UC is...but I graduated as a home school student after being home educated for seven years. I didn't suffer any social problems and was very involved in our homeschool conference by playing fastpitch softball, cheerleading, being editor of the yearbook, participating in homecoming, attending Proms and banquets, enrolling in Academy, and taking college courses at the local community college for concurrent credit.
I graduated with a 4.0 GPA, a 30 on my ACT, was named a National Merit Semifinalist, and was awarded a full scholarship to the private university that I am now attending. I also went into my freshman year with 12 credit hours that I had earned in highschool. (This isn't bragging. I'm just trying to show what most people don't think homeschoolers are capable of. My academic achievements aren't that unique, either.)
Don't let people misguide you into thinking that homeschooled students are at a disadvantage socially or academically. Homeschooling is what you make of it. Everyone I've come into contact with academically has been very supportive of my choice to homeschool through highschool.
The only reason I think someone would look bad for homeschooling is if they went about their education slothfully, with little regard for actually learning.

what is UC?
Under Class-men?Upper Class-men?
if you are worried about college entrance, they CANNOT care if you went to public, private, home,or if you were raised by wolves, its almost only about test scores on SAT or ACT and if you have a GED or some other equivalent
really
everything else is hype
is UC an employer? I can only guess. Usually people are scared or different things, most ppl don't know HSing so it could work against you

YES-it looks bad to colleges if you have been homeschooled.
Do not fool yourself.
I work on a college campus and do you know what I see the education majors wearing? ANTI-home schooling T - shirts.
Homeschooling is a business; and mothers and their children are the victims.

YES. Of course it looks bad. UCs hire people with formal education - they do not want students who were taught by soccer Moms and bible thumpers instead of certified teachers.

well they have nothing against kids that were home schooled, but if you're homeschooled, you tend to not join activities like clubs and sports etc.
so that may look bad.
