It was out from 7am until 9pm, then i put it in the fridge because it was too late to make dinner. It doesn't smell bad... Can I still use it? i plan on pan frying it. What could happen if it's bad? I'm on a limited budget so please be reasonable with your answers, afterall, I have used meat that has been left out to defrost for fairly long periods... Anyone have any experiences like this???

Technically it's not food-safe. You should never defrost meat just sitting out on the counter, you can either defrost in the refrigerator, by cooking it from the frozen state or allow it to sit in running water. Just make sure that if you do cook it, you cook it to a temperature of 140 degrees or more.
If it is bad, you could develop all kinds of illnesses, diahhrea, nausea, vomiting, upset stomach. Or even something like e-coli, and that could lead to worse things.

As long as it's still red and not turning brown it should be fine. I've never had any problems and I've done the same thing.

I've done this before with no bad results. Just be sure to cook it well.

I've done this before and it's been fine. As long as you cook it thoroughly it should be ok.
