dont you think that if you just beat your childs a.s.s once in a while that they wouldnt end up being little bad bas..tards and running away with 30 year old men when there 14... what happend to the grannies the old school ones that would beat you for coming in 2 mins after the street lights who agrees i think we need that back in this world and most kids wouldnt turn out killers and they wouldnt be runnning away with older men... and all that issh.... you know what parents just pay some damn attention to your child man... damn...

To tell you the truth my dad would beat the **** out of me if i was to come home late. I'm 19 years old and i don't have much room to talk but i totally agree with you i came out to be a very respectfull and bright young man. There is no excuse for disobedience.

Everyone thinks that's "OMG CHILD ABUSE!" now. It will ruin the child's self esteem, and that would be a big no no. Reguardless of whether or not the child ends up going to jail before they become an adult...
Not many people want their children to have a little fear in them. So what are they going to do? Go rob a store, get drunk on a daily basis, because they have "no fear" in the consequences their parents will dish out at them.
Ohh but if the parents don't put the fear in them, the police sure will do it. And the kids will have a bad wakeup call, because their parents didn't want to "hurt them" by spanking them a couple of times.
It's a sad world now. It really is.

spanking your child does nothing. those old school parents who beat their kids ended up having kids who grew up to become horrible parents and those parents had kids who were nourished to become bad a**es. Kids run away with older men because they are not getting something at home, they are unhappy and not because they are not getting beat. People need to really learn the right way to be a parent, not the cheap way.

i agree with you my moms always say spare the rod spoil the child when i did bad thing my mom would spank me therefor if i go to do it again i remember the pain from last time well not do it and that has really helped me understand the consequences of my actions to this day i thank her for being hard on me because i am 18 i don't have 5 kids i graduated from high school and about to start college at Georgia state in a couple of months not once have i been to jail hell i never even been suspended from school now that i think about it i never even had parent conferences why b/c i knew if i did my mommy would spank my *** and the people who are against it are the main ones with the bad a.s.s brats

A lack of discipline is a bad thing for any child, but so is beating a child. I am guessing you do not have children, and what is with all the bad language, did your mother not beat that out of you early enough?

What happened? People evolved and realized that there are more effective ways of inhibiting growth in a child. We are trying to raise children right?- not just simply beating them down and giving them a model for aggression.

I want respect, not fear from my kids. And i get it by respecting them.
What ever happened to beating your wife? Violence begets violence. This generation is not worse, they just have more firepower.
Treating children as if they were people with feeling an rights does not make brats. It makes good people. Might does not make right.
I have good kids and i don't hit them.

Worked fine in my mother's house, and it works fine in mine. I do not "beat" my child, he gets an open handed spanking on the tush when he is being very naughty.

What happened?.....It was replaced by something much much greater ...POSITIVE DISCIPLINE!!!!!!!!..with that children grow up to be more confident and responsible and less insecure and fearful...For me beating your kids is as good as bullying them...Sorry guys i would never beat my kids up but always give them time and teach them the same values we have always had..GOD BLESS!!!!!..Guess i am NOT a candidate for your Best answer....lol
