Yes you can. All of the services right now have 100% tuition assistance. All you have to pay for are your books. The hard part is finding time to attend classes. The good news though is that there are a lot of military friendly on-line schools. Plus if you have a good supervisor then they will usually work with you when it comes to getting an education.

First, let me say I am with the Navy Reserves, but also was active duty for 12 years. The Navy/Reserves doesn't have a good program right now for college tuition. It does have one, but most other branches have a better plan than the Navy right now. The reason? Drawdowns in the Navy has cut funds due to thousands of naval personnel jobs on the chopping block.
Look into your state's National Guard. They seem to have a better college program and you can go to school full time while serving in the reserves part time.
The choice is yours of course, just do your research and get all the info you can on all possibilities. Just don't take the recruiters word as the gosspel truth, make him show you in writing.....Good luck!

Your recruiter sees you only as a stat on his quota sheet. But, many military personnel serve the required four years and THEN go to college on the GI Bill. With a degree under your belt, you can also qualify for Officer Training School to get a commission.
Also, that degree will help you on your civilian law enforcement job by helping you move up the chain.

I've gotten my degrees while still enlisted in the USMC. I presently have a Masters Degree in Physics. It took me a lot longer than if I had just been out in school because of deployments and moving around but it can be done.

Yes you can. My sister is currently in the Navy (SK), and she is taking online courses while still being active duty. And while I'm at school, I see soldiers come in taking classes in the evenings.
It's just up to you. You have to have the dedication and patience to get your degree completed.
