I recommend the waterless shampoo or the wipes. Giving any cat a bath in water can be a dangerous experience, not to mention one who doesn't fully trust you yet. My cat recently passed after 14 loving years and I put her in the bathtub once....NEVER made that mistake again....lolol....Most of the associates at the pet store can make a good recommendation as to which brand to use.

When adopting a stray, you definitely want to have it checked by a vet for parasites, expecially if you have children or other pets.

You can bathe her in warm water, but make sure you dry her off before putting her outside.

You can use a hair dryer. See your vet for specific advice--not all breeds clean the same way. Long haired cats need different care than short-haired for example.

I do hope you plan a visit to a vet for shots and a checkup. Strays are among the most fun cats I have ever associated with. It would be a good idea to get her spayed in the near future.

Go to walmart, petsmart or petco and pickup some dry shampoo for cats, its a shampoo that doesn't need water in order to clean the cat. You can also get them in the form of wipes. I suggest walmart if money is a concearn.

WARNING!- DO NOT USE ANY TYPE OF DOG (CANINE) PRODUCTS ON YOUR CAT!

Dog products contain a chemical in which cats already have in their system, and the use of dog products could cause a system overload of the chemical.

Definitely don't bathe her in the winter, as some people have suggested.

We use cat wipes on our cats, and they don't seem to mind it. It's safe for them to lick themselves off afterwards, too.

give her a warm bath, fill your bath tub up half way up the cats legs and lather in a little shampoo, dry her off with a towel and make her a warm bed .....INSIDE.......do not put her out side wet she would freeze, if it's cold where you live.

Use baby wipes. They actually have wipes for cats but I'm sure they're the same

in the bathtub... just make sure she stays in and towel dry her very well afterwards... if it will stay still long enough you could even blow dry it with the dryer on the warm (not hot setting)
