It was a large container with lots left in it. Is it still safe to eat? Or should I dump it and not take the risk? I usually have some with breakfast and refrigerate the unuused portion, but his morning I was distracted and forgot. Should I just buy another?

Most of the bacteria in yogurt (99.44%) are edible and cause us no harm. However, once the yogurt reaches 40 degrees Fahrenheit, a single harmful bacillus can multiply rapidly to disease proportions. Assuming a population doubling of once per hour, in 24 hours, one bacterium on your counter there will be 1,048,576 potentially harmful replicates of it. Would you consider that safe to eat?

If you think that your yogurt reached over 40 degrees F... harmful bacteria would have formed on it. Toss it!
Good luck to you!
