minocycline!!??

i started using acne pill called minocycline and my skin is obly getting worse,..has anyone else used it and how long does it take 2 start working?? skin emergency happening with me right now my skin looks so bumpy and red! HELP

Be patient. I used the same stuff and ii takes time. You need to remember you are fighting an infection under your face. Give the army a chance to beat the bacteria.

My dermatologist gave me minocycline and benzaclin both as a treatment- one is topical. I found that the benzaclin was all I needed. Use it for three weeks and you will be clear, I promise. If you use both, even better- but the pills should only be used to get you clear. After that you keep yourself clear with the topical benzaclin.

I also really swear by the Cetaphil face wash and moisturizer since it is so gentle. Remember you need to wash and apply the benzaclin morning and night every day. No exceptions. You miss one day and you will get a zit, I swear!

Once your skin is clear you can get rid of scars by applying Alpha Hydrox Soufle. Its at the drug store in a red box. My skin is clear now and I only use the Cetaphil face wash, cetaphil moisturizer and then mornings I use benzaclin and nights I use the Soufle.

Also remember that these products can bleach your towels and pillowcases so use white ones!

Be patient and confident. Science says this will work and I swear it will! My skin was awful and my boyfriend who is a Plastic Surgeon put me on this regimen. I complained for three weeks that it wasnt working and I needed something else. He made me stick with it religeously twice a day. Now my skin is awesome, flawless, and I feel confident! You will too!~

My son used it for a time. After a couple of weeks his skin cleared right up.
