Recently, I moved from a place that had a microwave to a place that dosen't. All my friends suggested I should get one, but I value my counter space and rarely ever used the one I had before. I guess I don't mind waiting for my food to heat in the oven or popping pop corn on the stove. When friends come over for movie night, they know better than to bring microwave pop corn now! :)

Anyway, what's your reason/excuse/purpose for not having a microwave?

Many people choose not to use and/or own microwaves because they break down the nutritional properties of food cooked in microwave ovens. Many people also claim that microwaves physically alter food and make it harmful to the human body. A little-known, but interesting fact is that microwaves were banned in the Soviet Union back in 1976 because the Soviet government determined that they were unsafe. Check out the following website for some more interesting and detailed information on why some people really don't want to own or use microwave ovens!

Some people don't have a microwave as they can't afford one... or perhaps it jacks up their electric bill by using one., some people are just stuck in the old day and age doing everything by scratch instead of "instant" meals, etc.
To each and their own* :)

I would starve without one. I'm too impatient to cook otherwise.

For me, it's reheating leftovers. You really don't want to use to for regualr cooking. It just doesn't taste right.
