You don't have a governor on this truck. It's fuel injected. What you have is a manufactures program in the ecm that limits top speed , and engine rpms. Dealers will not remove this program because it has to do with factory liability . You need to get a down loader for a couple hundred dollars and just turn off this feature.

A governor is not something that comes stock from the factory on a vehicle. It would have had to have been added by someone to prevent the the vehicle from being driven too hard/fast. That being said the governor would prevent the throttle from being pulled all the way open. Follow the throttle cable and gas pedal linkage to find it.

I don't bleave you have a govenor installed on your Truck unless some one installed it. I think a computer chip will reset the throttle body range and it is a Dealer ship item.

why would you think you have a govenor.
because you dont. and if thare is a chip in it. it will probably damage you engine.
you may have a fail safe mode whare it will cut out the injectors when overheating

the govenor is a program in the computer...you'll have to buy a pre-programmed chip to disable it...
