We have a history of eczema in my family( a non-contagious skin condition causing very dry skin). So trust me w/ these tips:

1. take WARM water showers

2.take aveeno baths w/ the aveeno oatmeal bath stuff... it's sold in any drugstore
.
3. use DOVE soap stay away from soaps like Irish spring

4. as soon as u get out of the shower dry off quickly and put on either eucerin calming cream, aveeno lotion, or auquaphor

5. no scented lotions like victoria secret and or the types of lotion that come with cologne gift packs in other words nothing w/ a strong heavy scent bc that equals irritating chemicals

6.try not to scratch bc open scratches can get infected

7. wash dishes and do chores that require bleach or other harsh cleaners w/ rubber gloves

8.go see a dermatologist

Luckily I only get mild cases in the winter time but as long as I do the things above I wont have a problem at all...good luck hun :)

At night...put olive oil on your dry skin. Do this for a few days and it should help dramatically...for a more long-term fix, buy Vitamen E oil and use it when around the house.

Apply high quality body lotion (organic health food variety is best) immediately after showering and right before bed. Also a humidifier helps.

I get eczema type dry patches if I dont do the first -- it works!!!
