Can wearing contacts for contacts that are more than 3 months old have any negative, reverse affects on your eyes?

I would like some answers because I have two containers with contacts in them. I somehow got my fresh contacts mixed up with old contacts that I have had sitting for over 2 months. I took them out after a few hours because my vision was foggy and when I put in the fresh contacts, every light lamp on the street that I passed had this rainbow circle around it from the light. It was like my eyes were glaring and my vision was really foggy. I'm asking the question because now almost two hours after I have taken out my contacts, my natural vision still seems a bit distorted.

Did I mess my eyes up?

HEY MANILLO!!! howz it going??
so you've got a little problem with your 3 month old contacs, let me ask you this....were they in a solution the whole time or did you let them dry up????
IF they were dried up then you have a problem but it is your eyes
and if it were me, i definately would take them back to where you got them and ask a doctor's opinion...what ever he/she says,
i would go with that.....Good luck and God bless

Your eyes are probably fine, if you want to be sure go to the doctor to check. Wearing old contacts will not damage your vision, it will make you prone to eye infections. A few hours in the contact is unlikely to do any damage, this is just you imagination playing tricks on you.

My contacts do the same thing and I am planning on purchasing some new ones ASAP.....I find this only happens around the same time I need a new pair...or also if I have fallen asleep with them in or have had them in too long.Hope this helps some :)

old contancts probably have a super thin layer of fungus on them from being around and you could get a nasty infection in your eye. nice.
