Do unlawful Mexican Catholic immigrants have any company sitting contained in the pews of american Catholic church homes, stressful the Mass be celebrated in Spanish? Do close by community have any company telling me, an section-American Catholic that i'm able to't help or attend Mass on the Sacred heart Catholic Church on your reservation? The bloodbath at Wounded Knee changed into, and is, an abominable blight on American historic past. So is the elimination of the Cherokee tribes from Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee; the position my ancestors were forcibly, and tragically, removed from. traditionally, there is not any indication, or information, the Catholic Church contributed to the elimination of the Cherokees or the bloodbath at Wounded Knee. "White" adult males, in search of political and economic benefit were in charge for the elimination of the Cherokees and bloodbath at Wounded Knee.

A lot of Native Americans have been converted to Christianity, while still observing traditional spiritual practices. "Native American Spirituality"? What does that mean? Spirituality is spirituality. What is insulting is that you just separated us by suggesting that our spirituality is something of a different nature than yours.

To some. The church must have enough followers/attendees to sustain itself, in its present location. Some of the native nations have forgiven and moved on, while others have not. To those who haven't forgiven, it's a painful reminder to many of how families were torn apart by the gov't and missionaries, to distance them from their heritage, and indoctrinate them in a christian light.
