I LOVE answering your questions :D! They give me more and more confidence in and strengthen my beliefs and religion (Islam)! Thank you sooooo very much! I pray for your happiness and guidance to God's Truth daily.
As for your question, you need to provide the readers with evidence.
WOMEN'S RIGHTS??????!!!!!
DUDE!! Women have the MOST respect in Islam than they do in ANY other religion! That is why you hear of soooo many women converting to ISLAM and not to other religions!! THAT is why I don't believe that you're a woman, an ex-Muslim!
LOL!! I pity your ignorance. I've no choice but to show you the rights of women in Islam, rights that we Muslim women received over 1400 years ago but rights than most non-Muslim women STILL continue fighting for! Ahhh... Thank GOD I'm a Muslim! And a WOMAN!
A Muslim woman has:
1. The RIGHT and duty to acquire education.
2. The RIGHT to have her own independent property.
3. The RIGHT to work [job or business] to earn money, which she keeps to herself and does NOT have to spend on family; that's the man's obligation, thank God!
4. The RIGHT to equal reward for equal deed and/or work.
5. The RIGHT to express her opinion.
6. The RIGHT to argue and/or advocate her cause or opinion to be heard.
7. The RIGHT to vote since 1,421 years.
8. The RIGHT to provisions from her husband for all her needs and more.
9. The RIGHT to negotiate marriage terms of her choice (she chooses whom to marry whether her parents/society/relatives agree with her choice or not!!).
10.The RIGHT to obtain divorce from her husband, even on the grounds that she simply don't like him. In Islaam divorce is suppose to be last resort.
11.The RIGHT to keep all her own money. [She is not responsible for maintenance of family].
12.The RIGHT to get sexual satisfaction from her husband.
13.The RIGHT to get custody of her children in case of divorce
[unless she is unable to raise them for valid reasons]
14.The RIGHT to choose husband of her choice.
15.The RIGHT to refuse a proposed and/or arranged marriage.
16. The RIGHT to re-marry after divorce or after becoming widow.

You may be thinking that western women have these rights today, right? Well, my question would then be...WHEN did western women gain these rights? Yeppppp!! A few decades ago, or then at most, hardly much less than a couple of decades ago!! And most still have to fight for these (and many more) rights! How sad is that?? Islam, baby, Islam is the only religion that gives women the most beautiful rights that a woman could ever imagine!
As for democracy, what does it mean? I mean, how do you define democracy? Every culture/religion/country has its own definition of democracy, SALMAN! (I know you're a male; stop denying it.) Islam is NOTHING but Freedom! Freedom to live your life peacefully, happily, truthfully, serving your Creator to the best of your ability.... If you think democracy means doing whatever you wanna do, then that, too, applies to Islam. NO Muslim/non-Muslim is allowed to force a Muslim/non-Muslim to do anything, to have unIslamic beliefs. The Quran clearly forbids compulsion in religion (2:256). Just because some Muslims may disobey this rule does NOT mean Islam should be blamed for it.
By the way, we DO have free-will in Islam. No compulsion in religion/beliefs, remember?
And, also, women used to argue with Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) about different things. This means that we CAN argue about anything we want, provided we don't offend/insult the person we're arguing with. And we are ENCOURAGED to ask questions!!!!! However, since asking tooo many questions can annoy the answerer, we're advised not to ask tooo many questions. It's called using your common sense, you see? No, you don't see because your eyes, mind, and heart have all been blinded to the Truth. But God can do anything; I pray He'll open them all for you!
As for human rights, what are you talking about?
Any evidence, SALMAN?
As you hopefully see, Islam SUCCEEDS, NOT fails, in giving women/humans rights, democracy, and freedom!!!
Don't be fooled by the western idea of freedom, sweetie. It's NOT feedom for a woman to wear exposing clothes in order to please men, in order to attract men's attention....
Such women don't realize that they're actually submitting to the will of men, are being submissive to men!! Ahh.. sad for them!

My private opinion may not be fashionable. I consider Islam is a faith that was once began through any individual who was once both insane or possessed. I consider the judo christian faith is the one fact. All else is a false and a lie. Who is the daddy of all lies and what does he wish? To deliver God's youngsters anguish which explanations the residing God anguish who loves us. This is his sole rationale. So no human rights, or freedoms in Islam. Mohammad noticed a imaginative and prescient (this i"m no longer denying) and the Koran has many fake statements. Islam is centered from Abraham who had two sons. We understand from the useless sea scrolls and the bible that he virtually sacrificed his second son Isaac and that is the bloodline that was once desired through God no longer Ishmael. Ishmael 's descendants are who the Islam men and women got here from. So so so unhappy. †

Dave hit it on the head. Religion is easily twisted to help the rulers in power. In non-westernized countries, the rulers don't want to let go, the masses perpetuate the same horrendous treatment of outsiders and lawbreakers, and men refuse to relinquish any of their power to women--b/c they are afraid of what life will be like afterwards.

Much as the Christian church has warped the teachings of Jesus to benefit themselves, so the Muslim church has warped the teachings of Mohammad. Power structures exist to keep themselves in power.
