I'll say definitely maybe.
The coin could have been treated to make it more brittle or malleable, or it could have been a lead cast of a quarter (lead being soft and easily bent/punctured,. More likely he just palmed the actual quarter and replaced it with one with a hole in it.

yeah, you buy those quarters from online magic shops. i know this because my stepbrother works as a "magician" doing david blaine type magic stuff on the streets. he even has his own videos just like this one on youtube. so don't believe in any of that, its all fake. if you wanted to pay money, you could learn how to do it all too.
