Just starting to take Xydep again (Generic version of Zoloft), was just wondering whether it is safe to high -intensity exercise on it? ie cardio/weight training on a regular basis. Thanks

I agree with Poetgirl7 in that you must keep well hydrated when on antidepressants because you can for some reason easily get overheated and suffer heat stroke. It's a common side effect.

I would think that would actually be a very good thing, as long as you are physically healthy enough for that intensity of workout. Exercise has similar effects on the brain as antidepressants over time. I'm not sure about Zoloft, although I've been on it in the past, but some psych meds can cause you to get easily dehydrated or overheated, so it's important to know if it is one of those meds and if so, stay hydrated and be aware so you don't get overheated. If I were you, I would double check with the doctor too, just to be sure.
