have already been informed that medical care can't be given to grandchild, unless the mother has signed a medical permission form. But with sexual abuse or molestation, the faster a child is checked, the better, at least for the perpetrator.

Nope. If you think there is a problem, call Child Protective Services and let them handle it.

Call the police, file a report, get the child to a hospital, and make sure the child is seen by a child therapist( they usually can help talk the child through what happened --if the child is old enough to explain what may have happened to them).

In a case like this, the grandmother should call the Dept. of children and families and let them investigate. Most of the time they are on this issue within a few hours and if taken to the ER by DCF, the hospital can and will check.

Involvement of the POLICE is advisable, and immediately.

If there is a suspiscion of sexual abuse or molestation of a child, then it needs to be settled and fast. And the police will not have any problem getting that child checked over by a doctor.

Contact Children Services to file a report and they will complete an investigation and have the child examined if needed.

What you need to do is say the granchild is staying with you while mom is out of town and you dont have a number to contact her if they ask. I bring my neices the the ER all the time they can not refuse care to anyone. And yes it better to get them into the doctors ASAP. But dont try to bring him/her to there regular doctor cause they wont see them without the parent.

Yes, a court can take the child away from the parents for its own protection and award custody to a grandparent. Getting the court to do so is another matter. If you can prove sexual molesation, then indeed the court will act.

Anyone with just cause can file a police report of sexual abuse.... she should file one immediately with the police.

This is a deadly serious issue - and any relative should and is entitled to file a report if they have valid suspicions.

We always have an obligation to protect our little ones.

This is an awful and hideous thing to happen to a child. The child should definitely be checked out a.s.a.p. of course.
Perhaps you should call a local hotline to address this situation.
All the best of luck to you.

Yes, I would say so. Why wouldn't the parents want to do this though? She could call the police, on calls like that, children servies usually come with them. They know what can be done by law, I wouldn't let this go though.
