Panic attacks are caused by fears and stress...What ever it is that is stressing you out make changes...What ever it is that you are fearing get rid of it because it or them cant eat you...The best way I fight it is to start saying Jesus name over and over and over until it goes away and it truly works try it...All it is is Satan weakening us so we lose all control of our self's...Take some time for just your self make it a point to do this...Doll your self up for just your self-esteem And make it a habit to pray to Jesus for this to quit haunting you before you lose all control...God bless you and I am praying for you and your self control and peace of mind...Being happy is what it is all about..And taking your self control back...Go back in your mind when you didn,t have them that is were you have to go...And pamper your self..And just laugh and enjoy your life..Bring back into your life what is important to you..And Love your children and your husband hugging works wonders and holding your husband in your arms will comfort you so mush...God bless you and your Spirit.May the Lord shine His healing and comforting light own you and your family...Meds makes it worse in the long run it is all about self control

Hey, I've have the same problem for many years. and I've gone to great lengths to try to "cure" it. There honestly isn't a cure. But you can control it so it doesn't control your life. I highly recommend that you don't resort to medication! Although they can be effective for a time, the chemicals can make it much worse. You really don't get results into a few months into taking it, and stopping suddenly can cause a withdraw. When you have an anxiety/panic attack, sit or lay down close your eyes and breathe through your nose and try your best to clear your mind. Listen to music or think of something pleasant. Exercise is a great way to relieve stress, as well as a hobby to take your mind off things. Since I've been doing these things I haven't had a panic attack in months. Even though its hard to live with, you will find a way around it!

I recommend telling your doctor. A general practitioner will be able to prescribe meds for anxiety and a type of Xanax to take when you feel a panic attack coming on. It also helps to talk with a counselor to learn ways to combat the attacks yourself eventually. However in most cases the anxiety and panic attacks can escalate with out pharmaceutical intervention. This doesn't mean you'll be on medicine forever.

First I would tell you to go to the doctor if you have insurance, to rule out all the medical problems that
could be causing them. But be aware that most doctors in my experience will have that prescription pad out ready to give you a multitude of anti-depressants, without doing
any tests or anything. Find a good doctor and one that will listen. Panic attacks are horrible and they bring on
so many other fears, phobias, and you can become housebound from the fear. There are alot of web sites
about panic disorders, read all you can about them and
make your choice in how you want to treat them, because some of those medications that give cause alot
of unwanted side effects. Good luck and I hope you can find a good doctor.

Besides the rescue remedy, I am a firm believer that prescription medication as well as therapy can assist. I too wish that herbs/vitamins can help with panic attacks but your symptoms sound more severe than natural herbs cover at this time.

i take b 12 and this rescue remedey stuff from gnc or vitamin world. they help. but talking yourself out of them and counting the seconds on a second hand clock helps me. i went 2 years without an attack. they recently returned for some reasons, but all the meds i tried were terrible. i would not recommend any of them, they did more harm than good. try talking to a professional, they really do help with it.

You are afraid of your thoughts and that is why you have anxiety attacks. That's the only thing really wrong with you. Fear of your own thoughts.

i suffered from severe aniety attacks myself in the past, and occasionally feel them stirring up once in a while. other than taking Ativan when they were extremely severe, i learned a lot of self-help techniques too. first, youve gotta make sure youre getting adequate sleep, cut out as much caffiene and other stimulants (like refined sugar) as possible from your diet. I totally gave up coffee, soda pop, chocolate, and all candy and baking during my worst bouts. a diet of meats, veggies, fruits, yoghurt, nuts and seeds and whole grains worked best for me.
second, try to have a period of time set aside each day where you can perform some relaxing,de-stressing activity. listening to soothing music, meditating, going for a leisurely walk in the park, read some inspirational material, etc. i know with kids this is a challenge, but even if its only 20-30 min a day it will make a difference.
third, its possible to teach yourself self help strategies like--thought control, self hypnosis, self-talk etc. it sounds complicated but it isnt. anyone can learn it. a major part of anxiety/panic is that we immediately try to force it away, and that only makes it worse. you can learn to accept it, allow it, and realize that it WILL pass. this gives you power over it and enables you to minimize its duration and intensity--knowing it will go away makes it easier to endure. realizing that you are not actually in any physical danger from the anxiety/panic also helps to endure it. the worst thing you can do is fight against it. you can learn to "go with it". this strategy really helped me immensely and made it possible for me to just "wait it out" when i felt one coming on. and that turned it from being a total incapacitation to just a temporary nuisance that i learned to live with. this technique is also used in effective pain management.REMEMBER, panic attacks cannot kill you! and they dont have to stop you from living.
go to your library and get some resource material about living with and managing anxiety. theres plenty of excellent sources. it helps to know youre not alone, many people live with panic and anxiety on a regular basis and still live fulfilling lives. Knowledge is power--arm yourself.
ps: aromatherapy has helped me (best were lavender, rosemary, mint, cedar, balsam) they only help as part of an over-all plan. they are not cures in themselves. please dont rely on herbs for a cure. there are times when you do need pharmaceutacals.

I don't know of any herb, but I have had this problem for over 20 years. It got real serious for me.
Clonazepam is what I take and I guess I will for the rest of my life. Call your doctor. Don't let it get our of control.
