What rapture? That is an 18th century invention, not found in any religious holy texts.

Che--the Rapture is definitely coming. We just don't know when. The Bible is clear that no one but God knows the day and the hour, yet Jesus told us that we would be able to see signs that will point to His return. You can read this in Matthew Chapters 24-25 .

Wars and rumors of wars, false profits, earthquakes, and other birth pangs. Some of the prophecies in the Bible have already been fulfilled, such as Israel becoming a nation again.

I really love the website Rapture Ready for great articles and studies on this topic. http://www.raptureready.com

I disagree with the poster who said we would not be raptured. Just because the word "rapture" is not a Biblical word, does not mean that the actual event will not occur.

“For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not precede them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.” (1 Thessalonians 4:15-17)

Also, the word "rapture" comes from the Latin word "rapturo," which was a translation of the Greek verb "caught up" which is above in 1 Thes 4:17.

--1 Cor 15:51-52 Behold, I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

Since this is a letter to the church, it is most likely spoken to believers and not just anyone.

--John 5:28-29 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

I think this speaks for itself.

Luke 17--
26 And just as it happened in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man:
27 they were eating, they were drinking, they were marrying, they were being given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.
28 It was the same as happened in the days of Lot: they were eating, they were drinking, they were buying, they were selling, they were planting, they were building;
29 but on the day that Lot went out from Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from Heaven and destroyed them all.
30 It will be just the same on the day that the Son of Man is revealed.
31 On that day, the one who is on the housetop and whose goods are in the house must not go down to take them out; and likewise the one who is in the field must not turn back.
32 Remember Lot's wife.
33 Whoever seeks to keep his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it.
34 I tell you, on that night there will be two in one bed; one will be taken and the other will be left.
35 There will be two women grinding at the same place; one will be taken and the other will be left.
36 Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other will be left.

Again, I feel that this describes the rapture with one being taken and another "left." Also, this describes people that don't know the rapture is coming--they have no clue. They are like in the days of Noah. Eating, drinking, being merry. Don't you just know that they must have mocked Noah as he spent 100 years building that boat--there wasn't even rain until the flood. "Crazy old man, building a boat. What is he thinking?" But then the first rain drop fell and they realized Noah wasn't so crazy after all.

The end times will be just like that.

I know that some are still reading Revelation as a Literal Book but IT IS NOT!! Suffice it to say that the "rapture" that you speak of does not exist. Christ will come and judge mankind. The BOOKS will be opened and all will be bound for Heaven or HeLL. GOD will separate us to the Left or the Right. Have a great evening.

i really think the rapture will come whenever God feels like coming back. sure all of the prophesies in Revalation are being fulfilled. We should live our lives according to him and then we wont be surprised when he comes back. its simple, live in the light of judgement day! My job is to make sure people get the grace and mercy i got before he decides to come back. thats my mission.

If you want it to? Then yes. It's just off the horizon - always but a day away, ever drawing nigh.

If you don't want it to? Then no. It will never come.

Whichever belief makes you happy - believe.

Nope. Study to show thyself approved.

Rev.10:6 And sware by Him that liveth for ever and ever, Who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer:
TIME NO LONGER
Rev.10:7 But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as He hath declared to His servants the prophets.
SEVENTH ANGEL WHEN HE BEGINS TO SOUND

I Cor.15:50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
FLESH AND BLOOD CANNOT INHERIT THE KINGDOM
I Cor.15:51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
ALL BE CHANGED, NOT JUST THE CHURCH
I Cor.15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
AT THE LAST TRUMP, SEVENTH

I Thes.4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
THE TRUMP OF GOD, SEVENTH
I Thes.4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
THE CLOUDS
The word “the” is not in the Greek manuscripts. Clouds is used by Paul for a throng.
Heb.12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
THE AIR
The word “air” Greek (aer) means “to breathe, respire”, NOT SKY. In other words the breath of life or spirit. Flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God.

II Thes.2:1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto Him,
OUR GATHERING TOGETHER UNTO HIM
II Thes.2:2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
NOR BY LETTER AS FROM US, FIRST THESSALONIANS
II Thes.2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
LET NO MAN DECEIVE YOU BY ANY MEANS
The sequence of events is Satan first, then the Lord’s day.

Rev 11:3 And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.
Rev 11:4 These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.
TWO CANDLESTICKS

Rev 1:20 The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches.
CANDLESTICKS ARE CHURCHES

Yet there are men that teach the church is raptured. Men that teach that flesh and blood is taken and others left behind. It’s nonsense when you study His Word.
