About a year ago, my girlfriend and children convinced me to take in a calico kitten out of a litter that was found in a dumpster. The cat took to everyone right away, but lately she hisses and swats at people when they visit, even at me when others are around. She tolerates the g/f and is very affectionate with me, but just doesn't seem to tolerate anyone else. She hasn't been spayed yet either. Thoughts?

I have a calico now and she is probably the friendliest cat I've ever had. She'll go up to anybody that comes over and let them pet her. She does have this weird thing about not wanting her feet touched though. She's never bitten or scratched anybody, but she'll hiss or give you a serious look if you touch her foot. Maybe one of your visitors recently did something that upset your cat. Cats are easily offended.

here it is all info of calico cats i love my callie and she hates everyone else!

Calico cats are great to have for pets. One of the things you need to know about calico cats is that in a female’s life she can have up to 100 kittens. A calico cat can have 1-8 kittens per litter and 2-3 litters per year. That is why you may want to have your cat spayed or neutered. If you do not get your cat spayed or neutered you may have lot of calico cats.

Calico cats are most always female if they have the color orange, black and white fur. This is how the calico cats get their color. The female cat gets the color it’s by getting one X chromosome from the mother and one X chromosome from the father. If the at is a male then it gets it color by getting an X-chromosome from its mother and a Y chromosome from its father.
Calico cats are very hard to breed. If you are trying to breed calico cat with more orange in its fur, and a calico cat with more black in it’s fur. The calico cat with more black in its fur will be easer to breed. But, if the cat is a female it will depend e the on were the X- chromosome is in the cats body.

I have a calico cat named Callie. She is a very good calico cat. She tells you when she is hungry because she will get you and lead you to her food and water. Callie is a very playful if she wants to play that is. She likes to play with string. One thing that is different is that she hates other cats. Callie is very loveable, and she wants people to be around her.
In the end, calico cats are the best cats to have.

Your question makes as much sense as saying "Are black people anit-social?" You're asking a behaviour question based on a colour trait. The only link you can make to a calico is that its a female (99.999% of the time).

Domestic cats (which include all forms of calicos, there are different types) are as varied in personality humans.

This is normal for a female that is not spayed but at sexual maturity. Also depending on the age you found her, you may never be able to social her with people other then yourself. If it continues after you have her fixed, call a behaviourist.

calicos can be very temperamental, but not all are just one person kitties. It just so happens that your cat prefers your company over anyone else. There are many calicos that love people. Spaying a cat can sometimes make a cat more affectionate in the personality too.

My calico is an attention sponge, but gets mood swings. Maybe its cat p.m.s? Catnip helps.
