In the summer of 2005 I was in Turin and I somehow ended up being invited to the birthday party of a famous policitian (I think he may have been the most-recently-retired president or prime minister). I think the birthday boy's name was Giancarlo, and he was definitely turning 30. It was a "Red Passion"-themed party that was held in a castle outside the city. I'm still kicking myself for not figuring out whose actual birthday it was. Does anyone know of a famous retired politician from Italy who has a son who is now 31? Who is probably named Giancarlo?

OOOPS! I meant, to say it was the birthday party of the famous politician's SON!

At the time Berlusconi was the PM, so it may have been the guy before that, or the last president (as it was 2005).

I think it was the son of LA RUSSA, one of the most important politicians in Italy, from Alleanza Nazionale party!
Ciao! :-)

That's a tall order, Hon. Giancarlo is a fairly common name, and Italy has A LOT of politicians, past and present. He can't be the son of our previous Prime Minister Berlusconi, as he doesn't have a son by that name (1 son: Piersilvio).
Any more details at all??
