Proof? Evidence? (scientific or otherwise?)...oh please.. here is the deal...Both evolution (i.e. "big bang theory", natural selection, survival of the fittest-which, by the way, is the only logical argument in evolutionary theory) and religion both require faith, not evidence. Where did God come from?.....I don't know....
But where did the conditions and molecules come from that led to the "big bang" ..you don't know. The difference is religion admits that it is faith based and science refuses to admit this. I am a Doctor of Pharmacy, with plenty of science and chemistry under my belt, and it still makes more sense that intelligent design resulted in our creation as opposed to random acts of coincidence, and our source "the Bible" (thumpers as we have been dubbed by someone) has been backed up by archeology, secular writings during the Biblical era, and prophecies that have come true 100% (with the single exception of Christ's return) despite the fact the Bible was written over a period of 1,600 years by at least 40 different authors from different eras, races,
cultures, most of whom had never heard of one another. The question then is which makes more sense? Intelligent design? or happen stance? You choose your faith (and that is what is required to believe in the evolutionistic theory...I repeat...theory
(where is the missing link and where did the "stuff" come from...
and I'll choose mine. I'm just willing to admit that it is faith based...now it's your turn to admit it.

Atheists don't wish to believe that God didn't creat them, or that God doesn't have a purpose. They simply believe that there is no god to have a purpose in the first place.
An atheist going to prayer is similar to a christian tuning into a TV program with no antenna or cable. All you'll see is noise.

I don't think there is an appropriate answer for this. If you want to believe god made you special and what not, by all means enjoy. If you think he gave you a special plan, by all means fullfill it. However, Atheists are quite happy and content with the way they think of their coming to existance as well as the purposes they have in life. I hope you can respect that.

Because I prefer not to live in a fantasy world .Would you stop the Emperor from wearing clothes too? Do you think peter pan should be relegated to a position of deity as well ? give an honest person some credit for liberating themselves from the lies of antiquity to the real world. God is an obvious fantasy! And we have all heard one must build their house upon solid ground or it will fall. Fantasy is not solid ground when it is passed off as reality.
Peace out

I personally do not see any scientific evidence to prove that God existed. However, I do think that Jesus may have existed. The only evidence we have is the bible, which speaks of him a lot in the new testament. The stuff he did (raising the dead, water into wine, etc) may have been a little over exaggerated. He may have just been considered "the son of god" to a lot when the religion was becoming popular.

I guess my purpose was to suffer immensely through inhuman struggle after struggle for the first 22 years of my life so others wouldn't have to. Praise the lord. Maybe it was the meth abusing parents. The severely disfiguring stage V acne for years over 80% of my face. The clinical depression. Why didn't I see it...

I would love to have proof that God created me and has a purpose for me so that I could stop trying to figure it out....but until someone can offer proof of God other than 2,000 year old fiction written by schizophrenic guys, I have to keep looking for proof......So far there is NONE

If God is all powerful and omnipotent why would it have to have a purpose for something as insignificant as a human being? It makes no sense whatever.

Because we don't NEED an excuse for why our life sucks or to be reassured that our 'good acts' will be rewarded. It sure as hell feels a lot more REWARDING knowing that you're doing something just because you CAN and not kissing God's *** to get into heaven.
We think for ourselves. We don't like bible-thumping twits like you. We're pulled away from religion by things like that.
