Im writing an essay and whenever I got to edit it, if i start in the middle of a sentence and start to type, it deletes the other letters as I type.

What causes this and how can I prevent it???????

Press the insert key. You happened to go into the overwrite mode.

All you have to do is hit the insert button. Move your cursor to where you want to edit. If you notice it's deleting the letters in front of the cursor as you type, hit the insert key and it will stop. Good Luck!!

on your keyboard in the area with 6 keys (2 rows of 3) over the arrow keys there is a key that says "Insert" or possibly just "Ins" click that and that will solve ure problem

Hi there,
You have to look at your key board there is a button called "insert" press it. it will correct your problem.

go to TOOLS - OPTIONS - EDIT. Then clear the Overtype check box. Good luck!

toggel on your insert key (near delete, home, end and page up/page down buttons).
