I think that was yet another cowardly and hypocritical statement by our lovely "president." He sure takes "responsibility", huh? He accused the wrong person of being a "threat" to the U.S. and had the wrong (and immoral, might I add) motive for going to war with Iraq and he obviously ROYALLY messed up. So now he's sending 20,000 more troops in. Great. By the time this war is over, our Army will be completely depleted and it wouldn't surprise me if the draft gets reinstated.

Ever see Fahrenheit 9/11? If not, I recommend it .

It takes a lot to stand up in front of a hostile world and admit that you made mistakes as the leader of the most powerful nation in a situation that has caused such controversy for many years. He will not go up for re-election and people will still scorn him no matter what he says... so he did not have to say that he was wrong. I commend him for taking all of that on his shoulders, that's a big blow he took for the country if you ask me. He is trying to make it right in the only way that it can be made right. I know people are still going to jump his back... but I would like to see them run the Super Power of the world, because I highly doubt it would still be standing if they had that position.

Compared to other presidents, Mr. Bush has probably committed the fewest mistakes of most. Mistakes by Roosevelt killed ten times the soldier than have died in Iraq. Lincoln almost lost the country. Jefferson sent Marines half the way around the world to attack Muslims that did not closely threaten the United States. There are big monuments in Washington DC for those who made bigger mistakes than Bush. Where to you want to build President Bush's monument?

The bucks always stop at the top. Just because your boss takes credit for mistakes made, it does not mean he made the mistakes. My husband answers to the owner of business for all mistakes but the 146 employees make the mistakes - his supervisors, leaders or the regular employees & yes, sometimes he makes the actucal mistakes.

The President took responsiblity for some bad advice, some actions not carried through & some actions that just did not go as planned. He could have followed our new Congress's example & blamed everyone else.

Micheal N...Darn you remind of a Michael N I know and it is scary especially if you rank Bush as a MAN. Because the Michael N I know feels the same as you do.
He is no MAN he is an idiot.
Bush will say anything to try look good.

I think he is desperate to make it sound as if he wasn't the idiot who made the mistakes, but he is going to be the "big man" and take responsibility for them.

What a low-life.

He took responsibility for his actions. Something a MAN does. Not like that sniveling, spineless, coward boyfriend of yours Bill Clinton.
