First , Watch The Dog Whisperer (on the national geographic channel) Next, IT IS SO IMPORTANT I DON"T KNOW HOW TO STRESS IT ENOUGH, You must be the pack leader. When one of the dogs acts aggressively towards the other ,you must dominate the aggressor. Tell him down! if he does not comply ,make/force him to lay down on his back or side .Let the other dog come near and keep the aggressor down until he is calm. Repeat this right away at any sign of aggression. Don't take any crap from them this is serious business. Remember you must remain calm while doing this as the dogs will feed off your "Vibe" If you pi$$ed they'll pick up on it. Until you are sure they will get along I suggest you keep them separate unless you're there. One more thing ,you may want to pick up a pair of muzzles so you cant test their interaction with little risk of serious injury.

I have a pitbull myself, and have had 2 before. The ones I had a long time ago were sister and brother and would fight all the time, literally. But as they got older it went away. The thing is is that your new pitbull is 1 yr and your pup is younger. dogs have to be really dog socialized. Also NEVER TRUST YOUR PIT NOT TO FIGHT OTHER DOGS. That is the golden rule of owning a pit. They cant help it and thats why you cant leave them alone with other dogs, or let them run in dog parks without a leash. they may never like each other because they werent raised together.
"THE GOLDEN RULE OF PIT BULL OWNERSHIP- NEVER TRUST YOUR PIT BULL NOT TO FIGHT!!!!! This breed is descended from pit dogs one way or another, and, given the right circumstances, most Pit Bulls will fight and against any other breed, they will win (you really don't want to see that!). I have done pitbull rescue for 10 yrs...and one thing I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH is they HAVE to be spayed and neutered. Some of a pitbulls personality is taught by very consitant discipline, and part is the genetics of that particular dog. You may have a long road ahead and they may never get along. Two pitties of the same sex RARELY will accept each other. They are wonderful pets in the right hands, but you must really educate yourself. Every incident by an uneducated/irresponsible owner impacts the thousands of us that work daily to promote responsible ownership of this wonderful breed.

are they altered? are they the same sex? usually i do not agree that animals of the same sex will not get along. but with pits this seems to be a different story. i have talked at length with a pit rescue person and they will tell you that it's never a good idea to have pits of the same sex in the same house. and they usually do not adopt a same sex pit to a household. first try to introduce them slowly. take them on walks together on seperate sides of you. as long as you don't think you will be harmed in the process. contact a trainer, and an actual trainer. not petsmart. that deals with aggression. that is going to be your best bet. plus if they aren't spayed or neutered then start there. good luck.

Pit bulls were originally bred for dog fighting, and while some dogs of the breed seem to have lost their aggressive tendencies, a lot of pit bulls are strongly dog aggressive. This is just something that you should be aware with to begin with. If you own a pit bull, you might have to be content with that being the only animal you own, depending on its personality. Some pits just aren't compatible with other dogs.
If it's only light sparring, maybe you can deal with it yourself and they'll get used to each other. But considering that pit bulls tend to be very tenacious and determined, these attempts to attack the other dog could escalate. You might want to consider getting rid of one of your dogs.
If you want to keep them both, get help from a professional behaviorist. They can help analyze the situation and give you good advice.

Your "baby" pit feels jealousy, just like siblings. Be extra patient and don't favor one over the other. Walk them together, encourage the two to interact in outdoor activities. In time "baby" will realize it ain't so bad having a sibling.

Watch Cesar Milan The Dog Whisperer On The History Channel.
You most likely introduced them wrong and he is the pack leader instead of you.

Pit bulls have an instinct to play rough and fight other dogs. Thats what they are bred for so you are looking for some vicious fights ahead my friend. And keep them leashed at ALL times when walking them/it. I had a pit attack my dogs for no reason. If it attacks my dog I will kill it.

For starters, I would get them both FIXED and trained by professional dog handlers. You could read Cesar Milan, the dog whisperer. We don't need more pits attack dogs.
