I had a hair straightening therapy today and it has left my hair very very dry. It works more or less the same way as perm. Has anyone had a similar problem and found a product that works for them? In general my hair are normal to greasy, can't stand a day passing by without washing them.

Dying my hair after this therapy is not ideal. And they only let me had the therapy because I haven't dyed them for over a year.

Mayonnaise works wonders ....cover your hair in it and let it set for 10 - 20 minutes...just be sure to rinse it all out...so will a hot oil treatment with Olive Oil....cover your hair in it and wrap with a very hot towel...leave for about 30 minutes and then rinse well

It is not good to shampoo hair every day. Natural oils are lost. Is ok to just wash in water every day. No shampoo is what I meant.
I'd do a home therapy and no products are really needed. It is a repeat of what I told someone who dyes the hair. I do this myself and have benefitted.

Try this:
Warm some Olive oil and apply it to scalp by dipping a cotton wool into it and applying to scalp. Divide hair into sections and apply.
Then take a large towel, dip it in hot water, taking care of your hands, don't burn it! Hold the towel ends; do not dip those ends, and wring out the water. Now take the towel and wear it like a turban on your head. Take it away after it cools down.
[ OR. take a sauna so it steams out.]

Leave the hair that way , oily, for a couple of hours. Then you may wash it off.
I normally leave in some oil. The dry hair remains lightly oiled for a couple of days. Instead of shampooing oil out completely.

On some days, apply a full egg into the hair along with some oil [2tsp] . Leave it for half hour, shampoo it well.
This will give you some protein.
Also check your diet. Take a diet of fresh fruits, veges and proteins. Fish if possible.
Sure it will start turning around in a month. But keep it up for at least 3 months. 1 month , oil every week. Next 2 months every 2 weeks. I do this once a month without fail and have thick hair. It falls with coloring, but am still OK.I have good growth.

All the best.

You have to get JOICO K-PAK Deep Penetrating Reconstructing products. IT WORKS GREAT! Leaves your hair in much better condition! You will see a difference after the first treatment. HERE IS WHAT I DO: Shampoo my hair in warm water to get the outer layer of the hair folicle to "raise" then put the conditioner on and leave it on ALL NIGHT LONG up in a towel. I know this sounds uncomfortable but you will thank me! Good luck!

--by the way...they are only found in saloons and I have also found them on E-bay. Joico has lots of great products but the K-pak line is the best.

I like to use a product made by TGI called Dumb Blonde. It is a deep conditioner that you can use everyday. Or if you want something that you can make at home you could use mayo. Just coat your hair in it and cover it with a plastic bag or a shower cap. Wait about thirty minutes and then wash out. Or you could mash a couple of avocados, like you would for guacamole, and then cover your head with it. Then wait thirty minutes and wash your hair.

I have really curly hair that is pretty dry and these things seem to work for me.

I dye my hair a lot so it's always dry. Pantene makes these hair masks that they sell in different varieties, they're like 6 bucks. If you don't mind spending more look at a hair salon for a redken product. I don't know the exact one, so you'd have to ask a stylist but redken is awesome.

If you dye your hair, save the conditioners that come with it. My hair is so long , I have to buy two boxes (so does my mom).So we had tons of the conditioners just lying around, so I put all of them in one bottle and use it once a week for a deep conditioner. It is awesome stuff, and keeps your color from fading as fast.
