the price ranges are the same all year round. You might want to just browse around for a good Hawaii Package Deal online, usually some websites have those cheap offers no matter what time of year. You should be more concerned on when is the best time of year to visit Hawaii as far as weather? That's somethings more people concern over because they don't like spending lots of money on a vacation to Hawaii only to arrive during rainy season. So, the best time would be April thru September where the weather is more calmer. As far as price ranges.....try a package from Expedia.com

The slowest time is right after Thanksgiving. However if you book now there probably will not be the discount that will show up in the early fall when it is obvious no one is going. Late September and October can be slow.
Christmas, Spring breaks, Ski weeks, Washington's birthday and early summer are usually the periods with no "discounting" or "sales". From the West Coast $500 - $600 is a good acceptable average for flights to Hawaii, Maui or Kauai. Below $500 is great and you should grab it. $700 and over; only if you really want to go on those dates. Honolulu should be about $75 less than to the other islands.
Even after you buy a ticket keep going back and repricing your itinerary. If it drops below what you paid the airline should issue you credit for the difference to be used for future travel.

Slower season (not really that slow anymore) is after Thanksgiving until December 15th-ish (note:it can get a little rainier this time of year - not too serious usually but more than the rest of the year) and also right after April 15 for about 4 weeks.

I think October is off season there. It has been a several years since I was there, but there are a lot of condos that you can rent which is a better deal than most hotels. Another hint, find a place two or three blocks from the beach. Beach front are more expensive.

I can tell you the more expensive times are Christmas and Easter break times and also in the summer. Less expensive when school's in session.
However, it's not cheap at anytime, and there's no "down" season in Hawaii because it's beautiful weather there all year round.
