i can't get the center tube out of my buster food cube. can someone tell me how please?

I couldn't get either of mine open (a mini and a regular sized one). So I took it back to the store got a new one and before I left I had one of the employees (male) try and he was determined to get it out and he did- hurt his finger to do so (no cut or anything) but it started coming out easier each time.

It is supposed to turn to the right and just lift right out. They can be very hard to open, they do get easier as they get older. If worse comes to worst you can just put treats in one at a time and shake them down, not much fun for you, I know!
