The first human language evolved about 100,000 years ago in Africa. This language then changed, as all languages do, and as the population spread out and divided into other communities, the dialects became different languages. This language evolved into all the human languages spoken today. So if you ask "which language is the oldest?" the answer is "they all are equally old" because they ALL evolved from that original language in Africa.
So all the people saying "Sanskrit" or "Tamil" or "Chinese" are joking, right? Those are the stupidest answers. And Proto-Indo-European was NOT one of the first languages ever. Proto-Indo-European only dates to about 8000 years ago, NOT 100,000 years ago.

Experts on the subject are still not certain whether language was invented when all human beings still lived in one tribe (so all languages descend from the same one), or whether it was invented separately by different tribes of humans in different parts of the world - but the majority agrees with the first possibility.
Most of the languages in Europe, Asia Minor and the Indian peninsular came from one language, called Proto-Indo-European: one of the first languages ever (English, French, German, Gaelic, Russian, Greek, Sanskrit and Latin are among them). The Indo-European language family is one of the biggest in the world. If you're interested in the evidence for this theory, try translating the word 'brother' into different Indo-European languages: most of them are very similar.
There isn't a name for the world's first language - if there was one. We don't even know when language was first invented: estimates vary from two million years ago to forty thousand years ago.
This is a theory about how language was invented. Imagine you are a caveman, living in a cave with your family. You wake up one morning, stretch and begin to sit up - but as you do so, your brother says, 'dop'. Then you hit your head on the roof of the cave.
The next morning, you wake up and your brother says 'dop' again - and this time you know not to sit up, because he has warned you.
There are several theories about the origins of language, and they all have brilliant names! The Ding-Dong theory, the Bow-Wow theory, the Pooh-Pooh theory, the Ta-Ta theory, the Uh-oh theory, the Yo-He-Ho theory, the Watch the Birdie theory...

Just as we are from one set of parents, we all spoke one language at one time. Language develops similarly to animals, depending on whether it is isolated or in contact with other languages.

The Tamilians of India believe that when Lord Shiva oscillated his Damroo, from one end Sanskrit Paanineeya sootras, and from the other Tamil verses were heard.
I'm sure similar fable , about their own dialect would be rampant among the most uneducated tribes of densest equariorial forests also.
