I would call your vet if contractions do not resume soon. It is possible that the vet was wrong originally. Did he tell you this after palpating? or did he take an xray? It could also be that something went wrong during labor, and one pup is still inside. If this is the case, it is very serious. Your vet should just come to your house and examine her. If he still feels the third pup you can go from there. He may just feel that he made a mistake with the original exam. Sometimes when palpating, mistakes can be made. Better safe than sorry though. Congrats on the pups!

The third pup may still be inside you dog, get her to the vet so they can x-ray and see for sure, if the pup is still in the womb, then they can give her a drug to get the contractions going again, if it hasn't been longer that 24 hrs, but if it has been the will more than likely have to do a c-section and it may be too late for the puppy if it is in the birth canal. It is very important that you get your dog and the two healthy pups to the vet so that they can see about the 3rd pup because the pups must stay with their mother.

Oh Dear! I could now not prolong in getting her into your vet! Even if she was once pregnant she will not be now! Bleeding and a inexperienced discharge isn't natural and to intend it could be a massive caution signal of illness and the truly probability that if she was once pregnant the puppies have died and at the moment are inflicting a truly illness in her uterus! Dog don't/will have to now not have a depressing greenish discharge earlier than puppies arrive. They have that during among puppies because the placenta is handed. Gestation for all puppies is sixty three days additionally. Not three months! Your woman is in truly hindrance she demands to be taken in your vet ASAP!

several things here. did your vet do an x-ray? even if they did, it's still not 100% as the puppies are all twisted over one another. and the other sometimes if a pup is stillborn or not healthy in some way the mother will eat it. she does this because it keeps a pup that wouldn't make it anyway would take away from her milk supply and nature tells her that the strongest pups are the ones that need the milk and to survive. but to be sure you should bring her and the pups in tomorrow to the vet to be checked and he can check her and see if there is another pup. if she seems in distress in any way, then take her to the er vet. good luck.

Take her back to the vet, sometimes they need help having some of the puppies. My brother in-law had to take his dog to the vet after she had 9 puppies and the vet delivered another 5 the last 3 didn't survive cos it had taken to long.

if and when the mom starts contracting again, keep an eye on her. Dont let her go too long while contracting. It will make her very tired. At least call the vet and give them a heads up for now. Then you can rush in later if you need to, or they can explain what to do.

The vet could have felt a third puppy (unless some sort of ultrasound was done) but it was maybe the bladder. My cat, when she was having kittens we thought there was another one inside, but it turned out that it was just that her bladder was full.

But there are long periods before another puppy will come out. The same thing occurs with cats aswell. My cat took about 4 hours to deliver 4 kittens.

It could be. Labor can take as long as 24-48 hours in some cases. Feel around on her belly and see if you feel the puppy. Monitor her and if she doesn't start having contractions again, call the vet right away.

It is very possible. I would at least call your vet and if you have a emergency or 24 hour vet clinic in your area I would take her in immediately. If the puppy hasn't been born the puppy may die and cause severe problems with the mother, and possibly kill her.

This is a "take your dog to the vets" question. An unborn puppy can result in death to the puppy and the dame. Contact your vet immediately!
