He's trying to teach you the value of money and to save up for something more meaningful; but he doesn't realize it is important to you. You shouldn't be calling your dad "stupid," because you are his child - if you look down on your own dad - who would give him any respect? Eventually, you will be called the same thing.
You and your dad need to learn to communicate better. We don't want to be rude to someone we love and demeaning them.
Remember when you charge to a credit card, he's going to pay for interest if he had a big balance in the first place. It means he has to pay monthly until he paid off the bill. Your $9 will add up to the interest.
Sorry you can't have everything you heart desire - only your Heavenly Father will give it to you. Smile.

Girl you better love your Dad while you can. This is petty stuff. You will not have your Dad always. You must respect his decisons and know that he is looking out for you. Your Dad probably loves and cares about you. He can not care about you and always let you have your way. Sometimes parents can be tough, but you've just gotta trust and be obedient. I'm in college and my Mom and Dad are still encouraging me to make the right decisions. I'm telling you to love and respect him from friends perspective. For real, because you never know. Don't let this petty stuff get to you. And do not go behind your Dad's back and ask anybody else. Don't allow your Dad to mistrust you. Show him that you are a wonderful responsible child and with the years he will give you more of the things that you desire. Just relax, I'm sure everything will be fine.

Being from the old school, parents do not feel like you should be wasting money for things like that. Especially when the money is tight they days. If you need them that bad then see if you can order them through the mail and pay for it with a money order, do not send cash in the mail, ever. He can say that because it is his credit card that you need and with credit card bill, you have to pay a finance charge on the monthly bill.

The $9 dollars may be yours but the credit card is not yours. Your father is completely correct - it is a waste of money and their is no law stating he's required to give you his credit card to buy just anything you want. Your father just does not want to set himself up for any type of identity theft so he's being extremely cautious. Appreciate his concern and stop acting like such a spoiled brat!

This is funny. LOL. You must be under age. But, yes, your father should of bought you the erasers that smells like yummy food. Like you said- it's your money. He's just being mean. Some fathers are like that. Maybe if you ask again when he's in a good mood he'll let.
Good luck.

First of all, your father doesn't seem stupid. What it looks like is that he is trying to teach you the importance of the value of how money is earned and he is wise in telling you this. And someday, you to will be going through the same when your grown and have children. And as a parent they work hard to get you your needs and not your wants. That is their responsibility. So stupid is the wrong thing to say. That's just their obligation to you. Accept it and maybe tell him thanks for the nice life he has set up for you.

I think your Dad is smart.
It is his credit card and his decision on how it is spent.
When you have your own credit card, I hope you are as careful with it as your Dad is with his.
No way ever would I let my kids use my plastic.
