if there was concrete evidence of life after death, what would stop people from killing themselves, to see what was on the other side? Maybe we are not suppose to know for this particular reason. if in actuality, by some higher power, we are purposely never suppose to know if the is life after death for the sole purpose of preserving our lives, then this leads me to believe we must be here for some special reason.
lately i've been thinking about what will happen when i die...., so thats where this is comming from.

im not saying if you "believe" i.e. you "know" ther is life after death, im saying what if there was concrete proof, undeniable evidence, that there was life after death. because honestly i don't think you fully believe there is, i think everyone has a little shadow of doubt in the back of their mind, no matter what their religion is, or how faithfull they are to god, you know deep in the back of your mind, that you are afraid of dying, simply because you are not sure what wil happn next...

Good point..
Too many people like taking the easy way out..
for example, life is too hard,, and they neck themselves.
I have had a visit while in the hospital on my so called death bed.
I know there is more to life after death. But i cant tell you exactly what it was. Or for that matter have proof.
But i wanted to stay and learn more and experience more here and now.
Cheers.ALD

In the Bible it reads at Ecclesiastes Chapter 9 verse 5 "For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all, neither do they anymore have wages, because the remembrance of them has been forgotten."
Jesus referred to a person who had died to being asleep (Luke Chapter 8, verses 49 - 53). When your asleep, are you aware of what goes on around you. When God punished Adam and Eve, he told them they would return to the dust (Genesis Chapter 3 verse 19). Our purpose in life is to praise God, because he is the giver of life. But if we should die, our hope is not in an afterlife. Our hope comes from God's promise of a resurrection (John Chapter 5 verses 28 and 29) on earth, ruled by Jesus Christ as King (Revelation Chapter 21 verses 3 and 4).

Nothing stopping them now ! You have an incredible imagination maybe you could imagine something remotely plausible .It's unfathomable a deity would think in terms of a human as yourself .If such was relevant then the God concept could just put up an imaginary block on suicide and know who was susceptible . now see in a glimpse how your over active imagination can support the plausible and probable side of your question. When you die you will cease to exist as from Harry Houdini's to my own experience burying the dead exemplify.
peace out

I'm an old fart who has had a good life. No riches but lots of fun and some really good memories. If I croak next week I'll will have gotten more out of life than I thought I would.
Saying: Be bad while your young and the rest of your life repenting.

Yes the reason you give is absolutely correct and logical.
If we could see even through the "eye of a needle" the glorious world waiting for us we would all rush to kill ourselves, to get there as fast as possible.
Just like an unborn baby. If he knew about all the love and affection, that is waiting for him in the physical world, not to mention the toys and the wonderful friends, he would not want to wait nine months!

I KNOW there is life after death... but I ain't gonna kill myself because of the possible consequences on MUST face.
God gave me this life I intent to honor Him by living it fully.
If you have broken God's law you will be judged by the law. One of those laws is thou shalt not lie... ever lied... sure you have... well that makes you a liar.
Now the Bible says that if you just break ONE of God's laws you are guilty of breaking them all....
Well, now your hooped! God will judge you by the law and you will be held guilty, since God cannot allow sin into heaven.
But this is why Jesus Christ came. The Bible says God commendeth his love towards us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died FOR us!
This means Christ died to take our punishment for breaking God's law. The Bible says that whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved... Jesus said to repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
It also says for the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord....
Salvation is a free gift from God.,.. you don't have to pay for it... or even go to church for it....
You have offended a Holy Just God by sinning against Him and breaking His law... but God knew you couldn't help it so He died for you paying your penalty.
Just like in a court of law if you are fined you need to pay that fine... but if someone pays it FOR you, you are free to go.. this is what Jesus Christ did for the world.
Jesus said whosoever believeth on me shall not be ashamed...

If you really belief that nonsense, it is obvious that your "special reason" for being here is to annoy people who are less naive than you, and that's pretty much everybody.
