Persistent use of my veins to draw the blood and to give an IV has resulted in the growth of scar tissue on my veins. I don't have veins anymore. It's almost impossible to draw my blood. I don't know the solution for how to draw my blood. Could someone please throw the light on this issue. I also want to know if any treatments are available to cure or remove scar tissue on my veins. What are my chances of getting back my veins..

there are always veins in your fingers and upper arm that are rarely used to draw blood or start iv's from. You should make sure that you drink plenty of water before you go in- it helps "plump up" your veins. Also, if it really comes down to it- you may be stuck in your feet... although this rarely occurs. A good nurse should be able to find a good vein on you- even though you may not be able to see it, some of the best veins can only be felt with the lightest touch. You may eventually need a permanent catheter placed in your chest. It all depends on how long your therapy is going to last and what your doctor thinks.

Trust me! you have veins, otherwise you would be dead! Its not up to you to draw the blood (is it?) thats why you go to a proper blood collecting centre, where there should be professionals to do this procedure. Therefore, THEY will know how and where to draw it from. Your question amazes me.

you still HAVE veins....otherwise you'd probably be dead. but the scar tissue is just blocking them. have you tried using the veins in your legs? feet? etc.... instead of the ones in your arms? talk to a plastic surgeon about removing scar tissue.

No offense, but if you think you don't have any veins, you need to go read a book or something.
